EnergÉtica S. Coop. is a consumer cooperative which counts more than 1100 members and 1300 electricity supply contracts. This cooperative owns 20% of a mini- hydroelectric power plant (1MW).
EnergÉtica S. Coop. is a consumer cooperative based in Spain whose aim is to provide electricity coming from renewable resources to its members. It was founded in 2015 and currently has more than 1100 members and 1300 electricity supply contracts, including domestic users, commercial and municipalities. EnergÉtica has recently started to offer energy services, such as energy audits or dimensioning of self- consumption facilities. In 2016, the cooperative was given the opportunity to take part in the acquisition of a mini-hydroelectric power plant (in collaboration with another energy cooperative). The financial objective was reached within the period of 15 days by means of member contributions. During this short time period, the number of members was increased about 30%. This cooperative owns 20% of a mini- hydroelectric power plant (1MW). The cooperative is also developing formative and participative initiatives and services whose main objective is to encourage customers to reduce their energy consumption and helping them to decide which kind of technical and behavioural solutions fits best with their particular situation.
